Open House Weekend
One weekend neighbors and friends can join us to swim, relax, and enjoy the pool and grounds. We hope you'll see how nice it is when we have our next open house on June 18th and 19th, 2022.
Movies Under the Stars
We will arrange two or three outdoor movie screenings at the Swim Club over the course of the summer. If you have an idea for a film, please email membership@TenakillSwimClub.com or speak to a pool manager.
Sundays: 12- 1:30pm
Thursdays: 7- 8pm
This is just a reminder that you can bring in your blow-up rafts and/or use the Club noodles during this time. Have lots of fun while avoiding our lap lanes and being aware of younger kids nearby.
Food and non-alcoholic drinks throughout club grounds
Feel free to enjoy a snack, a meal, and non-alcoholic beverages throughout our grounds, except on the pool deck. You can buy from the Poolside , order in or bring your own. Kindly model to your kids how to properly dispose of your trash and recycling to help keep our property clean and safe. Thank you.
Letter from our President
Dear Tenakill Members!
Happy New Year! I hope yours is off to a good start! A bonus of living in the northeast is our ability to experience and enjoy the changing of the seasons. However, due to shifts in time and weather, many people experience seasonal mood shifts. Scientific evidence has proven that the length of the day, shorter in the winter and most extended in the summer, is the leading seasonal variable that affects one's mood. On behalf of the Tenakill Swim Club Board of Trustees and myself, we have just the tonic to lift you out of the winter blues! Judging by daily responses on our Facebook page alone, thoughts of fun in the sun, cool waters, and the unfettered chance to comfortably socialize with familiar and new friends outdoors, the summer season can't come soon enough!
The good news is that we are keeping our rates the same as last season, however, because we are a private entity and receive no financial underpinning from local government, in addition to your dues payment, we will be requiring members to pay a supplemental fee this season of $250 to cover the cost of our sprinkler system, pool maintenance, and other related concerns.
In the interest of full transparency, the Tenakill Swim Club property is owned by the Tenafly Borough. We are their lessees, and pay them substantial rent throughout the calendar year. Our only source of income is membership dues and small business loans, as needed. *During the 2020 summer season, when COVID-19 necessitated our decision to not open in the best interest of all concerned, we still had expenses from our vendors, services providers, etc., yet we were unable to generate any income. This reality posed a temporary setback. Furthermore, regardless of the year or the season, we are only operational from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. Our payroll is substantial, to ensure the safety and well-being of our members, staff, and guests, and our costs, never go down. In conclusion, like many of you, we genuinely want Tenakill to remain a very special and ongoing concern for years to come. With your fiscal support, we will be fortified in our endeavors to provide our members with many special summers, ahead!
As we continue to navigate this ongoing COVID wave, we will be guided by local, state, and federal guidelines. We are also members of the NJPMA; (New Jersey Pool Manager's Association), an invaluable resource to help keep us accountable and apprised of health and safety guidelines.
Our 2022 Calendar of Events is posted on our website, to help you plan accordingly for the coming season. We look forward to continuing our association with local camps; hosting and participating in league and county swim meets, and welcoming returning and new members to our special oasis on Grove Street. Stay tuned for 20220 information from Pool Pass; the electronic system we've implemented to process renewals and new memberships. Until we see each other next, stay healthy and safe!
